I’m Leanna — founder, mother, and scent obsessive.
Frankie & Rose began in 2017, during one of those in-between life moments. I’d just stepped away from owning a nail salon and was waiting for my son, Leo, to arrive. I was craving something slower. Something that felt more like me.
I’ve always been drawn to scent. Not just for how it smells, but for what it holds — mood, memory, stillness. That moment when someone walks into a room and says, “What is that smell?” That’s the kind of feeling I wanted to create.
So I started making candles. Slowly. Quietly. Long nights testing, pouring, burning, starting over. Until they felt right. Until they felt like home.
The name? Frankie was meant for a daughter I never had. Rose came after. But when Leo arrived — spirited and completely himself — I kept the name. It became the brand. A balance of soft and strong. Like scent. Like life.
Frankie & Rose is now a small-batch fragrance studio based in Palmerston North, New Zealand. But it’s always been more than candles.
It’s about creating moments.
Scent as ritual.
Memory as mood.
Stillness as luxury.
Every candle is made with clean, natural ingredients and poured by hand in small runs. We don’t rush. We don’t mass produce. We just make things that hold meaning— and maybe help you slow down for a second.
Welcome to Frankie & Rose.
